Chamberlain University, an Adtalem Global Education institution, celebrated the grand opening of its newly relocated, state-of-the-art campus in Miramar, Florida. The healthcare education facility provides an enhanced learning environment for Chamberlain University’s College of Nursing students and faculty with elevated lecture-style classrooms, science labs, a simulation care center, and a modern admissions center and faculty offices.

At the ribbon cutting ceremony, Wayne Messam, mayor of the city of Miramar, gave the keynote address.

"Chamberlain University Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam Speaking at Ribbon Cutting"
We know that before many patients see a medical doctor or DO, their first encounter with the healthcare industry are nurses,

said Mayor Messam.

You are the ones who are checking vitals, you are the ones who are the first line of defense and the first line of care as our fellow Floridians and Americans are dealing with their various conditions.
So we do not take it for granted that nurses are the heartbeat of the medical profession, and to have an institution like Chamberlain to be in the city of Miramar is a key supplier of amazing talent to our medical institutions throughout south Florida.

With the healthcare industry facing a significant workforce shortage, the Florida Hospital Association projects the state will be short nearly 60,000 nurses by 2035. Florida also has the second-highest number of seniors in the U.S. and is expected to see a population increase of about 25 million residents in the next 10 years.
