One Health Research Foundation Announces Research Fellow and Scientist Appointees

Inaugural researchers appointed from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – August 29, 2019 – As the One Health Research Foundation (OHRF) approaches its first anniversary, the foundation is pleased to announce it has appointed 40 research fellows and scientists from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM), an Adtalem Global Education institution. Each appointee was selected following a comprehensive review of their academic background, research experience and scholarly achievements by the OHRF board.

The group, comprised of RUSVM’s academic, research and university leaders, has collectively authored more than 1,700 research publications. The inaugural appointees include 13 senior research fellows, 18 research fellows and 9 research scientists. Respected leaders in One Health, including Dr. Sean Callanan, dean of RUSVM, will lend their expertise to the OHRF. The appointees and their biographies can be found here.

The OHRF’s mission is to improve human, animal and environmental health in the Caribbean and other tropical areas of the world through support of integrative, multidisciplinary research and innovation. Research topics will include zoonotic, vector-borne and infectious diseases, environmental health and conservation medicine. The OHRF will support fellows and scientists as they work to secure externally funded research grants from agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and the United States Department of Agriculture.

Future appointees will include research scientists and fellows from other academic institutions and current collaborators throughout the Caribbean and around the world.
