Prioritizing Access and Inclusion

Adtalem continued to improve access and create solutions at scale. In July, Walden University, whose tech-enabled digital platform allows students to earn over 100 degrees and certificates from virtually anywhere, unveiled the initial phase of its website redesign that will increase accessibility to essential information and services.

Additionally, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine recently graduated nearly 400 students, accounting for approximately 9% of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) graduates in the United States. These new graduates will contribute to the veterinary profession in communities nationwide.

Chamberlain University’s Expansion and Relocation Plans Underway

Chamberlain University is strengthening its standing as the largest nursing school in the United States.

Today, we announced we will enter the Kansas City market. This new campus represents Chamberlain’s 24th location nationally and will serve 550 students.

In July, students were welcomed back to Chamberlain’s newly relocated campus in Phoenix. This enhanced campus features a modernized learning environment, will serve as the location for Chamberlain’s second Physician Assistant (PA) program, and will have an expanded capacity of 1,100 students.

Our market leading BSN Online option is now offered in 34 states with triple-digit enrollment growth in the fourth quarter, allowing us to provide nursing education to thousands of students who might otherwise be unable to pursue it. Our expansive clinical affiliations across the country enable students to complete the practicum component of their education close to home.

Additionally, Chamberlain expanded its specialized nursing education Practice Ready. Specialty Focused.™ (PRSF) model through a partnership with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). PRSF now offers a hands-on introduction to caring for acutely and critically ill patients and their families. The program joins other specializations in the PRSF model, including emergency nursing, nephrology, home healthcare, and perioperative nursing.

Creating A Global Impact

Adtalem is expanding its community impact in Barbados.

In September, 30 Barbadian nurses will have the opportunity to enroll in one of Chamberlain’s master’s programs thanks to a memorandum of understanding with the country’s Ministry of Health and Wellness. It will pave the way for local nurses to specialize in different fields of the profession—including Family Nurse Practitioner and Adult Gerontology Primary or Acute Care—and advance in their careers with a higher level of competency.

The initiative is the second community-based alliance forged by Adtalem and its institutions in Barbados, following another agreement between the Pan American Health Organization and Ross University School of Medicine to address CARES—Capacity strengthening, Advocacy, Research, and Service—for health systems in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean.

The collaboration will contribute to strengthening the capacity of the health workforce to respond to health outbreaks, emergencies, and disasters, while raising awareness and advocacy for non-communicable diseases.
