Douglas G. Beck was appointed as SVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Adtalem Global Education in June 2021. In January 2023, Institutional Support Services were added to his responsibilities.

In his role as SVP General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Institutional Support Services, Beck is responsible for the operations of the legal and regulatory affairs departments and advice and counsel provided to clients in the areas of commercial, corporate governance, intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, regulatory and compliance, and securities. He is also responsible for Adtalem’s Institutional Support Services, the centralized teams that support Adtalem students in all non-academic aspects of their education.

Prior to this role, Beck served in several leadership roles over a ten-year period in the legal organization at Hub Group, a $3.5 billion publicly traded transportation management company, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Earlier in his career, Beck served in a legal capacity in several other companies across a variety of industries including Alberto Culver, Navistar and Allegiance Healthcare.  

Beck received a bachelor’s degree in American Civilization from the University of Illinois and a juris doctor degree from Northwestern University School of Law.
